Marathon will take place on Võhandu river that will offer many interesting and extreme moments during the race. Competition will start from Lake Tamula in Võru and will finish in Võõpsu. A windy voyage around Hiiumaa Island

It all started for me after reaching the store from delightful climbing and a busy weekend in South Estonia. Rushed the last things into the car and off towards Rohuküla. At Rohuküla, filled the kayak with stuff swiftly. The packing was checked by a father with a tiny daughter. Nothing escaped their notice. Never saw them blink an eye or look away, let alone move their mouth or body. Across on the ferry, and quickly into the sleeping bag on a beach.

SeaBird Designs have recently returned from exhibiting at Europe’s biggest ever kayak and canoe trade show KanuMesse, where we attracted further international interest in our latest line of kayaks.

SeaBird Designs at the OutDoor Exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany

The OutDoor Exhibition is the biggest trade exhibition for outdoor sports products in Europe. And this year was the 16th OutDoor in Friedrichshafen. Despite a global recession, Europe’s leading outdoor industry trade fair set a new attendance record: 19,300 trade visitors from 90 countries compared to last year’s 18,900. With 810 exhibitors from 38 countries, this year’s OutDoor maintained the event’s record of sustained growth. It was also able to increase exhibition space to 85,000 sq m (915,000 sq ft).

For SeaBird Designs it was a very successful exhibition with many visitors to the company’s stand and positive comments about the quality and design of company products. As a result of the exhibition SeaBird Designs gained new international dealers in Germany, Bulgaria, South Korea and Greece.

From the Estonian newspaper “Õhtuleht”:

“Kayak paddling is very close to cross-country skiing, paddling works the same muscles. The body and arms move in the same way as skating.”
“It’s well known that Norwegian skiers are big kayak paddlers, many times Olympic games winner Thomas Alsgaard being the outstanding example. If the Norwegians have become powerful through kayak paddling, then it’s a good idea for us to try as well.” – said Kein Einaste, member of the Estonian Team.
